Goodbye 2006

Myspace New Year Glitter Graphics

I have to say that years do seem to fly by much faster than they used to. Why is that? Remember how long it took for Christmas to arrive when we were kids? F-O-R-E-V-E-R. I know what you’re thinking:Hey, I thought you were taking a hiatus. Yeah, well, I just wanted to pop in and tell you I’m still alive and well and to wish you all a Happy New Year. What kind of cad would I be if I didn’t do that? Besides, I missed you. Didn’t you miss me? Just a little? Yeah, ya did.

All in all, it’s been a good year for me. The highlights include taking our motorcycle trip to Canada in June. That was beyond fantastic. Having my angioplasty to open my stents in September being the second highlight of my year, albeit not nearly as fun as the roadtrip, but it’s made mefeel a whole lot better. I’ve had virtually no chest pain since I had it done. The best part was hanging out in Vegas with my mom. I was also happy to see the Ohio State Buckeyes have a 12-0 winning season. That was fun. Not so much for Monica who can’t seem to grasp this obsession with one’s alma mater. Thanks again to my mom who keeps me dashingly donned in Buckeye regalia.

I am constantly amazed at how good my life is and want to acknowledge the people who contribute to the quality of my life. 2006 has brought some new, wonderful people into our lives. Well, they’re not new people; they’re just new to us. Kathy and Susan who were gracious hosts while we were on the road in June. We wish we lived closer. Chrissy, who keeps me sane at work and is one of the kindest, wisest souls I’ve ever known, and her husband, Mark who can show you the joys in life like no one else can. Jim and Sally, our riding buddies with whom we hope to get on the road with more in the coming year.

Here’s to health, wealth, and wisdom to you all for 2007!
